Cleaning
The machines can be cleaned in the same way as other machines in a food processing plant. Observe the guidelines below.
General guidelines
Applies to: RVT, RVB, RVR
- Cable glands, switches and seals are designed to be watertight and have been tested at a distance of 1 metre between the lance and the object. Do not hold the lance any closer.
- Do not aim the high-pressure washer at seals or cable glands for prolonged periods. Prolonged exposure may still allow water to enter.
- Remove stubborn dirt around seals and cable glands by hand.
Camera protective windows
Applies to: RVT, RVB
The cameras are shielded by a transparent protective window. The window gets dirty during use, and residue remains on it after the machine has been cleaned. Therefore, always check and clean the protective windows before production starts.

- Remove coarse debris by hand.
- Clean the window with a damp, non-scratch cloth.
- Dry the window with a dry, non-scratch cloth.
Caution
Only use a non-scratch cloth.
Light panels
Applies to: RVT
The light panels in the lid and in the cabinet get dirty during use. Clean the light panels daily using the same procedure as for the camera protective windows.
Caution
Clean the light panels in the cabinet on both sides.
Conveyor belts
Applies to: RVB, RVR
Guiding rollers
The guiding rollers of all conveyors are removable. Push a guiding roller upwards to release it, then remove it. This makes cleaning easier, as well as removing and refitting the conveyor belt.

With the guiding rollers removed, the conveyor belt hangs loose:

Risk of damage
Never start the conveyors while the guiding rollers are removed. This can cause serious damage to the sprockets and the belt.
Removing the conveyor belts
Remove the conveyor belts at least once a week for thorough cleaning. Follow the Intralox instruction video.
Caution
When refitting, check that the sprockets engage correctly with the belt. If the belt rides over the sprockets, both the sprockets and the belt will be damaged.
